TILBC Continuing Education (CE) Requirements
for Credentialing Renewal
Purpose:
To maintain and enhance the skills, knowledge, competence, and spiritual growth of those credentialed through TILBC by engaging in ongoing education and training.

Annual Minimum Requirements:
- Certified Biblical Counselors: 25 Continuing Education Points (CE Points) per year.
- Commissioned for Discipleship & Soul-Care: 12 CE Points per year.

Approved Continuing Education Activities and Point Values:
- Reading Biblical Counseling-Oriented Materials:
- 1 CE Point for every 100 pages read.
- Must provide title, author, and a brief reflection (Key Takeaway).
- Attending TILBC Monthly Team Connects:
- 1 CE Point per each.
- Minimum of three (3) Team Connects for Certified; two (2) for Commissioned.
- TILBC Virtual Workshops:
- 2 CE Points per workshop (minimum of 2 hours).
- Non-TILBC Virtual Workshops (Biblical Counseling-Oriented):
- 2 CE Points for up to 3 hours.
- 3 CE Points for 4+ hours.
- TILBC In-Person Training Events:
- 2 CE Points per segment (minimum of 2 hours).
- Non-TILBC In-Person Training Events (Biblical Counseling-Oriented):
- 1 CE Point per segment (minimum of 2 hours).
- TILBC Virtual Weekend Intensive:
- 5 CE Points for the complete weekend.
- 3 CE Points for completing the Role-Play segment.
- 2 CE Points for other sessions.
- TILBC In-Person Weekend Intensive:
- 8 CE Points for the complete weekend.
- 4 CE Points for partial attendance.
- Online Biblical Counseling-Oriented Courses (Non-TILBC):
- 5 CE Points per completed course.
- Personal Mentoring or Supervised Counseling with a TILBC Mentor:
- 1 CE Point per hour, up to 5 points per year.
- Participation in a Local Biblical Counseling Collaborative Group:
- 1 CE Point per session (minimum of 1 hour), up to 4 points per year.
- Leading Workshops or Presenting at Conferences:
- 3 CE Points for each workshop or presentation under 2 hours.
- 5 CE Points for each workshop or presentation, 2 hours or more.
Documentation (Using Online TILBC Continuing Education Form):
- Title and Description of the Resource, Course, or Event
- Presenter/Instructor/Author
- Participation Date(s)
- Provider or Hosting Organization (if applicable)
- Key Takeaway or Summary: 1-3 sentences describing what was learned and how it can be applied in counseling practice.
Annual Submission Process:
- CE documentation must be submitted by June 30 each year. *
- The TILBC Continuing Education Form must be completed with all required information.
- Random audits may be conducted to verify consistency. Audits, while rare, ensure program integrity, encourage accountability, and maintain the credibility of our credentialing process.
TILBC Prorated Continuing Education (CE) Policy

This policy establishes the prorated Continuing Education (CE) requirements for individuals who are newly certified or commissioned with Truth in Love Biblical Counseling (TILBC) during a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). This makes the requirements equitable while maintaining the integrity of our CE standards.

Prorated CE Requirements
- Credential Start Date: The date an individual is officially certified or commissioned with TILBC marks the start of their credential.
- Prorated CE Requirements:
- Credentialed between July 1 and March 1: CE requirements are prorated based on the number of months remaining in the fiscal year:
- Certified Biblical Counselors: 2 CE hours per month.
- Commissioned Individuals: 1 CE hour per month.
- Credentialed between March 2 and June 30: CE requirements are waived for that first fiscal year.
- Credentialed between July 1 and March 1: CE requirements are prorated based on the number of months remaining in the fiscal year:
Full CE Requirements Begin Next Fiscal Year
- From the first full fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) after credentialing, individuals must meet the standard CE requirements in full.
