Level III - Counseling Specializations
Modules BC31 - BC34

Some areas of soul care require not only advanced training but spiritual maturity, Christlike character, and pastoral discernment. Our Level III Specializations are designed for those called to minister in deep waters, where trauma, oppression, deep suffering, and brokenness often intersect. These modules equip you to bring truth and hope into life’s most delicate and complex situations.

Please Note:  Those seeking credentialing as a Level III Specialist must receive permission from the Professor prior to enrollment. Completion of BC10: Crisis, Loss & Trauma Counseling or an approved equivalent is a prerequisite.

Module BC31: Counseling Survivors of Oppression and Abuse

This module establishes a distinctly biblical and historically Christian foundation for providing help for those impacted by relational trauma, particularly relational oppression and abuse. It will develop students' understanding of various forms of relational oppression, abuse, and neglect prevalent in the world, as well as their effects, and how to analyze other available materials and programs. The module is adapted from the "Unbound: Growing Ever-Freer in Christ" curriculum we developed and have seen God use to bring healing to thousands.

Module BC32:
Sexual Brokenness

This module is designed for those who feel called to be equipped for more advanced levels of biblical counseling in the lives of those who have deep sexual brokenness. The twelve lessons describe in detail the biblical paradigm for healthy human sexuality and expression, addressing both the most common deviations from that norm that students are likely to face, as well as others that are considered far outside the norm.
The underlying emphasis is on developing strategies and applying scriptural principles to bring about transformation, change, and sustained healing to those who are broken.

Module BC33: Long-Term and Dynamic Trauma Survivors

The twelve sessions describe in detail the Biblical paradigm for understanding and addressing the complex nature of long-term and dynamic trauma and its impact on survivors' spiritual, emotional, and overall well-being. The course will cover a range of traumatic experiences, including long-term childhood abuse, domestic oppression and abuse, the impact of witnessing domestic violence on children, kidnapping, sole-survivor experiences, and the effects of living in violent communities.

Application for addressing trauma-related brokenness in the lives of those we encounter in most areas of pastoral ministry: from professional, to paraprofessional, to lay person. Underlying emphasis is on developing strategies and applying Scriptural principles to bring transformative change and sustained healing to the broken.

"Equipping everyday believers with real-world skills for the ministry of discipleship and soul-care."
