Requirements to Qualify as a TILBC
"Certified Biblical Counselor"
"Certified Biblical Counselor"
Becoming a Certified Biblical Counselor means that the individual has demonstrated a thorough understanding of how God's Word addresses a significant number of problems people commonly face and does so sufficiently.
Certified Biblical Counselors have demonstrated that they are both qualified to effectively guide people through biblical transformation, and to provide effective, compassionate one-anothering care. |
Those who seek to become Certified Biblical Counselors through TILBC will have received a robust education and comprehensive training to properly minister God's Word to the deeply troubled and those trapped in sin-patterns that overtake their lives.
They will be men and women who have a passion for discipling others through difficulties in life with compassion, understanding, and wise guidance from God's Word.
They will be individuals committed to the sufficiency of Scripture to address every matter with wisdom and godliness, no matter the problem.
They will not ignore the physical well-being of those they disciple, yet they will not ascribe to the tenets of Modern Psychology, nor will they use or promote those modalities (like EMDR).
Those who seek to be part of the Truth in Love Biblical Counseling family of Biblical Counselors and Disciplers will be involved in a local Christian fellowship and in discipling relationships where they are on the receiving end. As a result, they will continue to grow in their faith and faithfulness and will continue to learn as disciplers and soul-care "providers."
