TILBC Credentialing Exam Resources
The written examination process for TILBC Credentials differs by credential.
- Commissioned for Discipleship & Soul-Care: One written exam - the Commissioning and Certification Recognition Examination
- Certified Biblical Counselor: Two written exams - the Theological Examination and the Biblical Counseling Examination (differs somewhat from the Commissioning and Credential Recognition Exam)
- Recognition of Credential: One written exam - the Commissioning and Certification Recognition Examination
Exam Guidelines & Formatting Instructions
For All Exams (Commissioning, Certification, and Recognition of Credential)
- Open Book: You may use the Bible, books, notes, class materials, and reputable online resources. Cite all sources in footnotes.
- Answer Format:
- Include the question number and the entire question, typed in bold.
- Provide a 1–2 page response for each question. (If you think you need to provide a longer answer, coordinate with you Credentialing Mentor.)
- Document Settings:
- 1-inch margins
- 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font
- 1.5 line spacing
- Include your name, the date, and the name of the exam in a header or footer.
- Writing Conventions:
- Capitalize references to Deity (e.g., He, His, Him) unless quoting from a Bible version that does not.
- Capitalize terms such as Scripture and Word when referring to the Bible.
- Submission:
- Use Google Docs to write your exam.
- Share your document with your assigned Credentialing Mentor and enable commenting.
