Who we are
At Truth in Love, we have built something different. We are not just another biblical counseling program; we are a close-knit fellowship of biblical counselors, interns, disciplers, and students united by a shared commitment to authentic, biblical soul-care. We are as invested in one another as we are in those we serve.

We hold firmly to the core doctrines of the historic Christian faith, and we maintain what we call a "bigger barn"; Reformed and non-Reformed believers train and serve together here, united by the conviction that God's Word is sufficient and that His people are the context in which lasting change takes place. If you have not found a place where you quite fit, Truth in Love may be the community you have been looking for.
Our Distinctives
What Distinguishes Us
Trauma-Wise, Clinically Aware, Biblically Grounded

We study the therapeutic landscape thoroughly and treat its practitioners with respect, but we measure every framework by the same standard: does it lead the person toward Christ? Our approach is trauma-wise rather than trauma-informed, rooted in Scripture rather than borrowed from secular models.

The Whole Person, Not Just the Problem
We do not reduce people to diagnoses or symptoms. We care for the whole image-bearer: what they believe, what they feel, the choices they are making and those that have been made for them, how their relationships are functioning, and what their body is carrying. We sometimes say it this way: we walk over to the pianist, not the piano.

Specialized Where Others Are Often Silent
We have particular depth in domestic oppression, "narcissistic" abuse, relational suffering, and the aftermath of trauma, including military trauma, and the complex struggles that often carry clinical labels but are rooted in the deeper realities of the heart. If you have been told that your situation is too complicated for the church to help with, we would respectfully disagree.

Four questions that  shape every conversation we have, whether in training or in care:

  • Do they have a solid grasp on their identity in Christ?
  • How well do they understand the true nature and character of God?
  • How much confidence do they have in who God is?
  • How can this impact what they are struggling with today?
These are not academic exercises. They are the lens through which we engage every person and every struggle, because what a person believes about God and about themselves in relation to God changes everything.
